Nusa dua in Bali - Indonesia is a master planned development that provide several luxury hotels and resorts, among them is Sofitel Nusa Dua Beach Resort & Hotel owned by Agung Podomoro Land. Sofitel Nusa Dua Beach Resort & Hotel is designed & concepted by WATG Architecture Firm, Singapore, collaborated with Indesign Domus (IDD) as Architect of Record. WATG & Agung Podomoro Land began the concept design in middle 2011 and IDD started to work in early 2012. According to WATG senior designer Chiara Calufetti-Lim, the idea was to create a complete Bali experience within the site. For example, in the lobby, guests are welcomed by large timber columns that support the roof. The columns symbolize a banyan tree, which in Balinese are the center of social life. Sofitel Nusa Dua Beach Resort & Hotel features 415 hotel rooms, including 17 villas, one ballroom, five meeting rooms, a multifunction room, three restaurants in the plaza, convention center, kids club with pool, lagoon pool, one bar and lounge.
